Ian Denby

Having graduated from Massey University with a B.Sc in Zoology and then working in the Physiology & Anatomy Department at Massey University’s Vet School, Ian has spent the next 28 years working mainly for multi-national animal health corporate companies such as SmithKline Animal Health and Fort Dodge Animal Health in sales and marketing roles.

During this time, Ian launched many of the small animal vaccines currently on the NZ market, interspersed with selling products for the rural sector, to gain a wide understanding of the animal health industry and in particular the needs and interests of vets and veterinary business.

Following a trip to Mongolia in 2011, Ian returned to start Animal Solutions Ltd in 2011, initially with the FASTest Diagnostic range of in-clinic bench-top test kits and subsequently launching IDentify, New Zealand’s first 8mm long mini-chip for companion animals.  This product is now known world-wide as SwissPlusiD (see separate website at https://www.swissplusid.co.nz )

With such broad experience, Ian believes Animal Solutions can assist vets, vet clinics and their nursing staff to provide a sound back-up support for in-clinic diagnostic testing.

In his spare time, with wife Julie, and family, Ian enjoys jet-boating and water skiing on central North Is. lakes, and in the last few years has replaced motoring horsepower for single man-power on a new carbon-fibre road bike in an attempt to maintain some level of fitness.  Ian also enjoys all sports especially ones where he can yell from the sidelines in support of his kids.

Ian is fully committed to the veterinary sector of the animal health industry and would be pleased to assist you in any enquiries you may have on any in-clinic bench-top testing.
